Rwanda registers five more COVID-19 deaths, 256 new cases

The Ministry of Health has reported that five people succumbed to COVID-19 yesterday bringing the death toll to 1226. The deceased include four women and one man.

The statement released last night shows that 256 people have caught the virus while three recovered.

The majority of new cases were found in Gicumbi: 40, Ngororero: 27, Rulindo: 26, Karongi: 23 and Nyaruguru: 21.

A total of 1,440,597 people have been fully vaccinated while 1,968,873 received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation program on 5th March 2021.

Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
