Rwanda registers one more COVID-19 death, 42 new cases

The Ministry of Health has reported that one person succumbed to COVID-19 yesterday bringing the death toll to 1322. The deceased is a woman aged 35 from Bugesera district.

The statement released last night also shows that 42 people have caught the virus out of 9272 sample tests. The majority of new cases were found in Musanze:9, Ngororero:9, Burera:6, Kigali: 4, Ngoma: 3 and Rubavu district:3.

A total of 1,942,368 people have been fully vaccinated while 3,735,581 received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation program on 5th March 2021.

Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
