Jasiri has announced its continued hosting of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) in Rwanda for the second year, scheduled to take place from November 6th to 14th, 2023.

This year’s theme, "Entrepreneurship Thrives Here", perfectly encapsulates the goal to showcase and celebrate the stories of entrepreneurs who boldly take risks, develop innovative solutions, and uplift our communities while highlighting Rwanda as a thriving hub for entrepreneurship.

“This year’s events will rightfully celebrate our Entrepreneurs, showcasing the impact their innovative solutions are creating in the development of Rwanda and our Continent at large. Throughout the week, we will present Rwanda’s unique positioning as a pivotal launchpad for the entire African continent—a nation that fosters innovation and creativity. Join us at GEW 2023! Let us engage, collaborate and together continue to build a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem!” - Aline Kabanda, East Africa Regional Director, Jasiri.

Last year’s GEW in Rwanda was a resounding success, bringing together 16 partner organizations and featuring a dynamic lineup of 19 events and activities. Notable participants included esteemed organizations such as the Ministry of ICT & Innovation, Ministry of Trade and Industry, 250 Startups, BPN, Imbuto Foundation, Inkomoko, Westerwelle startup haus, Segal Family Foundation, and many more.

GEW is a global movement designed to celebrate and empower entrepreneurs from every corner of the world. Every November, over 10 million individuals participate in tens of thousands of activities, competitions, and events, all of which serve to inspire action and equip participants with the knowledge, experience, and connections essential for entrepreneurial success.

Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) this year is gearing up to be a spectacular affair, uniting more than 20 captivating events hosted by a diverse range of partners. Expect exciting events like the University of Rwanda’s Innovation Week activities, the grand launch of the Africa Innovators Society at CMU Africa, the eagerly anticipated Demo Day for Jasiri Nuru Cohort, and a dazzling closing event uniting over 100 startups in collaboration with Startups in Rwanda.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! The week’s agenda is jam-packed with entrepreneurial workshops and mentorship sessions taking place at the Musanze Hanga Hub, thanks to a fruitful collaboration with MINICT, RISA, Inkomoko, and 250Startups. Other esteemed partners hosting exciting events include BPN, RICA, KLab, Global Shapers (Kigali Hub), Impact Hub, Make-IT in Africa (GIZ), and Westerwelle Startup Haus. But here’s the kicker – GEW 2023 coincides with Norrsken Africa Week, a full week of events designed to celebrate our dynamic entrepreneurs in Rwanda.

Jasiri has extended a hearty invitation to all key players within Rwanda’s Entrepreneurship Ecosystem, founders, investors, policymakers, educational institutions, and ecosystem builders to leverage the Global Entrepreneurship platform in highlighting what makes Rwanda an ideal destination for entrepreneurial pursuits and to attend the scheduled events.

"We are aligning all partner events, and Jasiri will provide assistance to ensure these events receive international exposure through the Global Entrepreneurship Network as well as national media coverage.

We hold your partnership in high regard, and your active participation in GEW 2023 will undoubtedly contribute to achieving its success. Together, we can inspire, connect, mentor, and engage as an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Rwanda."
